Let me tell you a secret. Are you ready?
I am amazing.
I am not trying to be vain or toot my own horn, but I am amazing. The closer I grow in my relationship with God, the more I begin to see myself the way He does. And let me tell you, I am amazing.
I have been handcrafted and intricately designed by God. The same God who carved the Grand Canyon, built the mountains, dreamed up the rose, and who paints beautiful sunsets each night designed me. He creates breathtaking work. To say that I am any less than amazing is a slap in the face of the One who made me. It is holy for me to acknowledge the work of His hands. I am His masterpiece. When did self-depreciation become holy or falsely labeled as humility?
Now, let me tell you something. Are you reading? YOU are amazing. You are God's masterpiece. He made you, and He says you are good. He loves that you are human. The very things that you think are flaws and weaknesses are precious to Him. Don't let what He created keep you away from Him. If you don't believe that you are amazing, you are missing a key part of your identity and value.

We have been taught from the time we are young to conform to what others like and to hide what people don't like. We are raised to seek approval and validation as proof of our value. Our value comes not from Who created us, but what other people think of us, or rather what they say about us. For some reason, there seems to be an unspoken rule that we all can't value or none of us will. Some people seem to believe that taking value from others increases our value, as seen by any schoolyard bully.
Most of us have a warped view of who we really are and the value we really possess. We believe lies that we are not good enough, not holy enough, not strong enough, not attractive enough. We believe that our thoughts and ideas don't matter. We believe that others are more important than us. We believe that our sin lowers our value and makes us unworthy and unwanted. Some of us even believe the lie that we deserve to be dishonored, disrespected, and abused. All of that is untrue.
If nothing else, I want you to walk away from this blog re-evaluating how you feel about yourself and why. If you don't feel like you're amazing, somewhere along the way you started to believe something untrue about yourself. It is my prayer that those lies be exposed, and that you begin to see and live your life in the amazing awesomeness for which you were created.
Go.
BE AMAZING.
